Position: Mechanical Design Engineer Location: Calne, Wiltshire Salary: £30,000 - £38,000 Depending on experience Our client is a well-established engineering and manufacturing business specialising in complex mechanical and hydraulic machinery. Due to continued development, they are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join their design team. Mechanical Design Engineer Position Overview Design and develop mechanical and hydraulic systems from initial concept through to production release. Produce accurate 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings and Bills of Materials. Develop hydraulic circuits and carry out pressure, flow, force and power calculations to validate system performance. Design welded fabrications, machined components and complete hydraulic systems with consideration for functionality, safety and manufacturability. Lead prototype development, testing and validation activities, working closely with workshop and production teams. Raise and manage Engineering Change Requests and Engineering Change Orders. Liaise with suppliers, customers and internal departments regarding technical specifications, component selection and product improvements. Take ownership of assigned engineering projects, managing technical risk, priorities, validation and delivery milestones.
