Educational Support Worker
Five Education is recruiting a support worker to assist a Year 1 boy with special needs in Glastonbury. You will be working in a classroom setting and responsible for supporting the child on a 1:1 basis to access his learning and engage him in activities. The child has ADHD and ASD tendencies along with epilepsy, your main role is to ensure he is safe and help him develop social skills.This role is full-time and starts ASAP, running only during term time You will be responsible for supporting the child with fun daily activities, general supervision and providing companionship. Experience is not necessary, but the successful candidate will be compassionate, resilient and comfortable in handling challenging behaviour. This role would ideally suit psychology graduates wanting to learn more about cognitive and behavioral issues or those who have a background in support worker/care assistant. The work won''t be anything too academic but primarily focusing on developing their social and emotional skills.
