Teaching Assistant

Hours - 8:30am - 3:30pm

Simply Education is working in partnership with a specialist SEND Primary and Secondary SEND School based in Alsager. They are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant or Sports Coach to support children and young people with additional needs within a specialist education setting.

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with backgrounds in sports coaching, youth work, mentoring, care. This role is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, sports coaches, youth workers, psychology students, early years and mainstream school settings looking to transition into specialist education with full support and training provided.

In this varied role, you will support pupils both inside and outside the classroom, using sport, teamwork, and positive relationships to help students build confidence, emotional resilience, communication skills, and engagement with learning.

Full training, mentoring, and ongoing support will be provided throughout your journey within this specialist school environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Supporting students with SEND and additional learning needs throughout the school day
• As a Teaching Assistant, you will support students with their learning, emotional regulation, and social development.

• As a Sports Coach, you will deliver engaging physical activities that encourage teamwork, structure, self-belief, and positive well-being.

• Assisting teachers within lessons and small group interventions
• Building positive relationships and acting as a strong role model for students
• Supporting behaviour, emotional well-being, and engagement in education
• Delivering and supporting sports-based activities and structured physical sessions
• Creating a safe, supportive, and encouraging learning environment
• Working collaboratively with school staff to help pupils reach their full potential
