An established and growing transport & infrastructure consultancy is looking to appoint a Highways Design Engineer into its Gateshead office. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative team delivering a wide range of development and infrastructure projects across the UK.

You''ll be joining a well-rounded consultancy offering services across:

• Highways design
• Transport planning
• Drainage
• Environmental services

This "one-stop" approach means you''ll gain exposure to projects from early-stage planning and feasibility through to detailed design and delivery, giving you a much broader skillset than a typical design-only role.
Projects are varied and include:

• Residential developments
• Commercial and mixed-use schemes
• Education facilities
• Logistics and industrial sites
• Regeneration and public sector projects

As a Highways Design Engineer, you''ll support the delivery of highway design packages across a range of projects.
Responsibilities will include:

• Designing roads, junctions, roundabouts and pavements
• Supporting the delivery of highway schemes from concept through to detailed design
• Producing technical drawings using AutoCAD / Civil 3D
• Working closely with transport planners, drainage engineers and other disciplines
• Supporting project delivery across multiple schemes
• Liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders where required

• Experience in highways design, particularly:
  • Roads
  • Roundabouts
  • Pavement design
• Experience using AutoCAD (Civil 3D beneficial)
• Experience working within a consultancy environment
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn

• Exposure to the full project lifecycle
