Apex Recruit is currently looking for experienced Mental Health Support Workers to work within a mental health hospital based in Eastbourne BN21 area. This is an ongoing temporary position supporting individuals with complex mental health needs. Applicants must be confident working within a hospital environment and managing behaviours that may challenge. please note currently we are only excepting candidates with PMVA or similiar training. Main Responsibilities Providing person-centred support to patients. Supporting patients with daily routines and activities. Promoting independence, dignity and emotional wellbeing. Observing and reporting changes in behaviour or wellbeing. Following individual care plans and risk assessments. Supporting clinical and care teams to maintain a safe environment. Using approved de-escalation and intervention techniques when required. Maintaining accurate records and handover notes. Essential Requirements Previous experience working within mental health, secure care or a similar setting. Current PMVA or MAPPA training. Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to complete a new DBS. Good communication and record-keeping skills. Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
