We are currently looking for an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Tooting to provide 1:1 support for a child with complex needs in Reception.

The Role

The school is looking for a confident and experienced Teaching Assistant who has a strong understanding of supporting children with complex special educational needs. You will be working closely with a child in Reception, providing individualised support to help them access learning, develop communication skills and engage positively in the school environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day.
• Using appropriate SEND strategies and interventions to support the child''s individual needs.
• Supporting communication, interaction and emotional regulation.
• Adapting activities and learning opportunities to ensure the child can participate in the classroom.
• Working closely with the class teacher and SEND team to provide a consistent approach to support.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a specialist SEND school or supporting children with complex needs in a mainstream setting. You should have a good understanding of SEND support strategies and be confident using a range of techniques to support communication, emotional regulation and learning.
