The Vice President, Strategy and Business Development for Wealth Services will report into the Senior Vice President, Strategy and Business Development for Wealth Services.

The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting a wide range of strategy and execution activities for the business, including:Supporting the growth strategy for a substantial, market-leading offering through driving strategic and business development initiatives.Contributing to the strategic and operating planning processes in partnership with business leaders.Conducting regular market and competitive research to build a market-leading view of the global ecosystem of wealth services providers.Identifying strategic partners and working with enterprise MandA teams to evaluate minority investment and acquisition opportunities.Supporting business leaders in executing strategic partnerships with clients, fintech firms, custodians, data providers, and other third parties.Supporting the head of the department in finalizing contractual arrangements.Planning and executing business development initiatives in close collaboration with senior management and product management, including identifying potential targets for acquisition.Undertaking chief of staff responsibilities for the head of the department including:Supporting the administration and delivery of clear goals and metrics (OKRs – Objectives and Key Results) for Wealth Services Strategy and business development.Developing materials for Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with the Global Head of the business.Supporting Business Intelligence Projects, in partnership with teams such as finance and talent.What we valueIdeal Competencies and ExperienceProven record of supporting MandA transactions and transaction experience in crafting strategic alliances, partnerships, and investments.Extensive experience in modelling Pro Forma financials reflecting revenue and cost implications of strategic partnerships being evaluated.Exposure to the wealth management servicing industry with proven skillset in translation of industry/client themes and trends into actionable strategy, partnering effectively with a wide range of internal and external constituents.Ability to deliver across complex multi-functional projects.A customer orientation which allows him/her to solicit, acquire, and act on information from customers concerning their current and future needs, issues, and challenges.Education and Preferred QualificationsUndergraduate degree minimum and graduate degree/MBA preferred.5+ years of related experience preferably within the Financial Services industry.Top-tier investment banking, business development, or corporate development experience preferred, particularly with exposure to Financial Services/FinTech.Ability to lead, prioritize and execute on multiple, simultaneous priorities and initiatives.Strong delivery-focused mindset; ability to work on multiple initiatives in parallel, thinking both tactically and strategically.Outstanding verbal and written communications.Superb business judgment and ability to think through complex business issues.Critical assessment capability – ability to maintain a very high bar and deliver excellence in work products.About State StreetWhat we do.
