What a Graduate Teaching Assistant does day to day

• Supports students 1:1 or in small groups so they can take part in the lesson alongside their peers
• Applies the strategies set by teaching staff and the SENCO consistently, day after day
• Adjusts how a task is presented without changing what''s being learned
• Watches closely and reports back what helps and what doesn''t
• Supports students through arrivals, transitions and less structured parts of the day
• Learns from experienced staff, including therapists and specialists where they''re involved

Who this tends to suit

• Graduates, or final year students, in Psychology, Education, Sociology, Criminology or similar
• Anyone who''s spent time around children or young people, including volunteering, coaching or care work
• People who communicate plainly and are comfortable asking when they don''t know something
• Those who stay steady when a student is struggling, rather than rushing to fix it
• Candidates available for full-time, long-term or permanent work
• You''ll need the right to work in the UK

What we offer

Weekly PAYE pay. A consultant who''ll describe a setting honestly before you go there. Training in SEN and behaviour support as you build experience. Long-term placements, because most of what you''ll learn only becomes visible over weeks. A good number of the graduates we place go on to permanent placements, teacher training, educational psychology or therapy routes.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position is previous experience working in a school setting.
