SEMH Teaching Assistant - Northampton Location: Northampton Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary Start Date: ASAP Are you passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We''re recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant secondary school in Northampton. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact by delivering structured interventions, supporting emotional wellbeing, and helping students reach their full potential. ? Key Responsibilities: Provide targeted 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs. Deliver structured intervention programmes tailored to individual learning plans. Work closely with SENCOs, teachers, and pastoral teams to monitor progress and adapt support. Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment that promotes emotional regulation and engagement. Build positive, trusting relationships with students to support behaviour, self-esteem, and resilience. ? Essential Requirements: Previous experience supporting students with SEMH or similar needs (school or alternative provision experience desirable). Confidence delivering structured interventions or behaviour-support programmes. Calm, empathetic, and resilient approach to managing challenging behaviours. Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with staff across the school. Relevant SEN training or qualifications (desirable but not essential). Benefits: Competitive pay
