About Transforming Support

At Transforming Support, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to live a quality life, make their own choices and work towards goals that genuinely matter to them.

Our Birmingham supported living service provides person centred support to adults with learning disabilities and a range of complex needs. We focus on what each person can achieve, helping them build confidence, develop independence and enjoy greater choice and control over their life.

The role

As a Support Worker, you will provide consistent, respectful support to people living in their own homes.

This is not about doing everything for someone. It is about helping each person do as much as possible for themselves, make informed choices and build a life that reflects their interests, goals and individual needs.

The difference you make could be helping someone manage their home or finances, supporting them with their health and medication, encouraging a new interest or helping them become more involved in their community.

You will take time to understand each person, recognise what matters to them and provide the right balance of practical support, reassurance and encouragement.

What you’ll be doing

  • Providing person centred support that protects each person’s dignity, rights and choices
  • Helping individuals develop everyday living skills and become more independent
  • Supporting people to manage their tenancy, health, medication and finances
  • Encouraging community involvement, relationships, personal interests, education and employment
  • Contributing to support plans, assessments, reviews and positive risk management
  • Maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with colleagues and professional teams
  • Following safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality and quality procedures

What you’ll need

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has at least six months’ experience working within a care or support setting
  • Genuinely wants to help people live fulfilling and independent lives
  • Communicates clearly, respectfully and confidently
  • Is patient, dependable and able to remain calm when circumstances change
  • Understands the importance of dignity, choice, safeguarding and confidentiality
  • Can work positively as part of a team and respond constructively to feedback
  • Can maintain clear written records and manage their time effectively
  • Is able to work day and night shifts, including alternate weekends

You must already have the right to work in the UK, as we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.

What you’ll get

  • £14.00 per hour
  • Up to £1,000 discretionary bonus
  • 28 days’ annual leave, including bank holidays
  • A structured rolling shift pattern
  • The opportunity to build meaningful relationships and see the difference your support makes
  • A role where your patience, encouragement and consistency can help someone achieve greater independence
  • Fully funded enhanced DBS check
  • Full training and ongoing development

How to apply

If you are compassionate, dependable and ready for a Support Worker role where your contribution genuinely matters, we would love to hear from you.

Please apply with an up to date CV. Suitable applicants will be contacted about the next stage of the recruitment process.

No agencies, please.
