**Fixed Income Application Support Specialist** (Contract)

Duration: 8 Months (Possibility for extension)

Location: London/Hybrid (2 - 3 days per week on site)

Rate: A highly competitive Umbrella Day Rate or Salary is available for suitable candidates

Role Profile

We are looking for an experienced Fixed Income eTrading Application Support Specialist to join the Sales & Trading Application Support team on an approximately 8-month temporary assignment.

The role will provide hands-on technical and production support for business-critical electronic trading services, with a particular focus on eTrading workflows, electronic venue connectivity, production stability, monitoring and technical troubleshooting.

The successful candidate will work closely with Front Office users, internal Technology teams, Network and Infrastructure teams, application vendors and electronic trading venues. The role requires someone who can quickly understand an existing production environment, investigate issues independently and contribute to strengthening the resilience and supportability of the eTrading platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day production support and monitoring for Fixed Income eTrading applications and associated services.
• Support electronic trading workflows, including RFQ processing, orders and trades, FIX connectivity, market data and STP.
• Work directly with electronic trading venues and external vendors to investigate connectivity, application and production issues.
• Troubleshoot application, server, network and connectivity issues across the eTrading environment.
• Support server and application configuration, deployment, production readiness and technical validation.
• Monitor application health, interfaces, connectivity and production services, proactively identifying potential service degradation.
• Investigate production incidents using application logs, monitoring platforms, database queries and other diagnostic information.
• Work closely with Front Office, Development, Network, Infrastructure and other support teams to resolve issues and minimise disruption to trading activity.
• Support releases, infrastructure changes and production activities, including appropriate technical checks and post-release validation.
• Develop or enhance scripts, automation and operational tooling to reduce manual support activities and improve production monitoring and resilience.
• Maintain practical support documentation, including runbooks, recovery procedures and troubleshooting knowledge.

Skills & Experience:

• Strong hands-on experience in eTrading, electronic trading or Front Office application support, ideally within Fixed Income or Capital Markets.
• Good understanding of electronic trading workflows and the trade lifecycle, particularly RFQ, orders, trades, pricing, market data and STP.
• Practical understanding of FIX protocol and electronic venue connectivity, including troubleshooting connectivity and message-flow issues.
• Experience working with electronic trading venues, application vendors and internal technical teams to diagnose production problems.
• Good understanding of networking and connectivity concepts relevant to trading applications.
• Hands-on experience supporting Windows and/or Linux/UNIX servers and application environments.
• Strong production troubleshooting skills, including analysis of logs, application processes, connectivity, system health and data flows.
• Experience with production monitoring and observability tools, such as Splunk, Geneos or similar platforms.
• Good analytical skills and the ability to work independently in a time-sensitive Front Office production environment.
• Scripting and automation experience using PowerShell, Python, Shell scripting or similar technologies.
• SQL and database troubleshooting experience.
• Experience automating production health checks, monitoring, alerting and recurring operational tasks.
• Familiarity with Fixed Income platforms or services such as Bloomberg eTrading/TOMS/eTOMS, ION Anvil or comparable trading platforms.
• Experience supporting releases, deployments, infrastructure changes and production readiness.
• Understanding of high-availability and resilient production environments.
