Electrical Maintenance Engineer – Job Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Bradnop, Staffordshire.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy manufacturing environment, working with a wide range of production machinery and automated equipment. The successful Electrical Maintenance Engineer will play a key role in ensuring machinery reliability, minimising downtime and supporting continuous improvement across the site.

The Electrical Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for:

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on manufacturing machinery.

• Diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults across production equipment.

• Fault finding on PLC-controlled machinery, motors, drives, sensors and control systems.

• Maintaining and repairing conveyors, automated machinery and associated production equipment.

• Responding efficiently to breakdowns to minimise production downtime.

• Supporting continuous improvement projects to improve machinery reliability and efficiency.

• Working closely with production teams to ensure equipment operates safely and effectively.

• Completing maintenance documentation and ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures.

Electrical Maintenance Engineer – Non-Negotiable Requirements

• Must have previous experience working as a Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

• Must hold a recognised electrical engineering qualification.

• Must have strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

• Must be comfortable working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern covering days and nights.

Electrical Maintenance Engineer – Requirements

• Electrically biased Maintenance Engineer with good mechanical knowledge.

• Experience maintaining and repairing industrial production machinery.

• Strong understanding of electrical systems, motors, inverters, sensors and control panels.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.

• Experience carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance.

• Ability to work independently and as part of an engineering team.

• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.

Electrical Maintenance Engineer – Desirable Requirements

• Experience fault finding on PLC systems, including Siemens or Allen Bradley.

• Experience working with automated manufacturing or processing equipment.

• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical drive systems.

• Experience supporting continuous improvement and machinery upgrades.

• Previous experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
