Belcan Workforce Solutions is recruiting for a Site EHS Advisor to support our client on a major UK energy infrastructure project based in Kent.

This is an excellent opportunity to join one of our client''s flagship projects, playing a key role in ensuring health, safety and environmental standards are maintained throughout the delivery of a nationally significant programme. Whilst the contract is initially 3 months, the project has a long-term pipeline of work and the client is keen to engage individuals who are interested in remaining with the project beyond the initial contract period.

Role Overview

As the Site EHS Advisor, you will provide professional Environment, Health and Safety support on site, ensuring compliance with company procedures, client requirements and relevant legislation. Working closely with site management, contractors and the wider project team, you will help drive a positive safety culture and ensure high EHS standards are maintained throughout project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive EHS support across all site activities.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits and behavioural safety observations.
  • Support risk assessments, method statements and permit-to-work activities.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses and non-conformances, identifying corrective actions and lessons learned.
  • Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings and EHS communications.
  • Monitor compliance with company, client and legislative requirements.
  • Support environmental management activities, including waste management and environmental protection measures.
  • Maintain accurate EHS records, reports and documentation.
  • Liaise with project teams, contractors and stakeholders to promote continuous improvement in EHS performance.

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience in an EHS, HSE or SHE Advisor position within construction, energy, utilities, engineering or other heavy industrial environments.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental legislation.
  • Experience conducting audits, inspections and incident investigations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently whilst building positive relationships across site teams.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Ideal Candidate

We are particularly interested in candidates who are:

  • Practical, site-focused EHS professionals who enjoy spending time in the field rather than being office based.
  • Confident engaging with engineers, contractors and operational teams on a daily basis.
  • Looking for a long-term opportunity within major energy and infrastructure projects.
  • Passionate about improving safety culture and influencing positive behaviours on site.
  • Based within a commutable distance of the Ramsgate site and committed to supporting the project for the long term.

If you are a hands-on EHS professional looking to contribute to a major infrastructure project and become part of a long-term programme of work, we would be keen to hear from you.
