Mechanical EngineerWe re working with a well-established manufacturing business looking to bring in an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support their production operations. This is a hands-on role, combining day-to-day engineering support with involvement in improvement projects and longer-term site development.The role:You ll be responsible for keeping production lines and associated equipment running efficiently, safely and reliably. Alongside reactive work, there s a strong focus on preventative maintenance and continuous improvement across the site.What you ll be doing: Supporting production lines and ancillary equipment across the factoryPlanning and carrying out preventative maintenanceIdentifying and implementing line and process improvementsMechanical fault finding, repair and component replacementMonitoring line efficiency and downtime, contributing to improvement plansGetting involved in CAPEX projects from planning through to implementationSetting up, adjusting and running production lines when requiredSupporting quality standards and reducing waste, spoilage and complaintsCarrying out routine maintenance (oiling, greasing, housekeeping)Working on fabrication tasks including welding, turning and millingSupporting and mentoring apprentices and line staffLiaising with production teams and external suppliers What they re looking for: Mechanical engineering qualification (essential)At least 5 years experience in a similar manufacturing environmentExperience using CAD
