You ll be joining a team of two DBAs, reporting into a Lead DBA, taking shared ownership of a predominantly on-prem MS SQL environment that supports a 24/7 operation. When performance dips or systems fail, the wider business feels it. So this is about stability, optimisation and doing the fundamentals properly. There is some exposure to cloud in the wider landscape and the hiring manager has said any Azure experience would be a real plus, but the core environment today is on-prem. Day to day You ll be responsible for managing and optimising the MS SQL estate, ensuring performance, integrity and availability across business-critical systems.
