What''s the job?
You''ll support the Growing Managers across all aspects of crop production, learning how a large-scale commercial growing operation works while developing your own technical knowledge and responsibility.
Day to day, you''ll be:
- Monitoring irrigation, EC, pH, drain and drip water performance
- Using and managing PRIVA
- Crop walking and monitoring plant health
- Implementing pest and disease management programmes
- Assisting with biological controls and crop protection
- Supporting in and overseeing planting programmes
- Monitoring crop quality and environmental conditions
- Maintaining growing records and supporting traceability requirements
Working closely with colleagues across growing, production and planning teams and as you develop, you''ll take on greater responsibility for decision-making, crop performance and planning activities.
What do I need?
- A horticulture, agriculture or related qualification.
- Ideally, you''ll have commercial growing experience.
- A genuine interest in crop production and commercial horticulture
- PA1 and PA6 are desirable, but not essential.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- A practical, hands-on approach
