Our client is an established, international manufacturer of advanced industrial equipment and market leaders in their field. They supply customers worldwide and have service teams in the UK, USA and Asia.

They are looking for a Field Service Engineer to support customers on site and remotely. You''ll install, commission, maintain and repair high-technology equipment, travelling regularly in the UK and internationally.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, commission, test and maintain electron beam welders, laser welders and vacuum furnaces at customer sites worldwide.
• Carry out calibration, repairs, upgrades, refurbishments, training and audits.
• Provide remote support to customers alongside the international service teams.
• Complete service reports, timesheets and expense claims accurately and promptly.
• Take part in pre-delivery acceptance visits, and support sales visits and exhibitions when needed.
• Help promote spares and service work to customers.
• Liaise with other departments and train colleagues when required.
• Cover for service colleagues and work weekends when customer needs require it.

About You

Essential

• ONC, HNC or BTEC Level 3 in Electrical / Electronic Engineering.
• Willing to travel and work away regularly, in the UK and worldwide.
• Strong customer service skills and an adaptable approach.
• Clear written and spoken English, with accurate technical reporting.
• Confident working independently and under pressure.
• Proactive team player who uses their own initiative.
• Full, clean UK driving licence.
• No travel restrictions, and able to obtain security clearance.

Desirable

• Experience with high-voltage systems and/or vacuum technology.
• Experience or knowledge of electron beam or laser welding systems.

Salary and Benefits

Salary: up to -40,000 basic DOE, plus paid overtime. With regular travel, overtime adds significantly to earnings.

Hours and overtime

The role is 38 basic hours per week. Hours in the field can be longer, and all overtime is paid at premium rates.

Travel time is paid, from leaving home until returning home (or arriving at the hotel on overnight trips). Time in lieu is available instead of overtime if preferred.

Expenses and overnight allowance

Meals are fully paid when travelling for work (reasonable costs, itemised VAT receipts required). A nightly allowance is paid for each hotel night:
