Our client have a successful steel beam manufacturing warehouse in St Albans and are looking to bring in an experienced Fabricator and Welder as part of their long term succession planning. The hours of the position are Monday-Friday 6:30am-4pm and Alternative Saturday mornings 6am-10am. The job description is as follows: Key Responsibilities Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions for accurate steel fabrication and welding. Fabricate, assemble, and weld steel components for construction and installation projects, ensuring high standards of workmanship. Use fabrication tools and welding equipment safely and effectively, including MIG, TIG, and arc welding processes. Carry out quality inspections on finished products, ensuring dimensional and structural accuracy before delivery. Assist with loading, unloading, and handling of steel products in the workshop and yard. Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to all health and safety regulations. Report any machinery defects, safety issues, or production concerns promptly to your Line Manager. Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Steels Warehouse and wider company to meet production targets and customer requirements.
