The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils one-to-one and in small groups, helping them overcome barriers to learning and reach their potential
- Build positive relationships and boost children''s confidence, engagement and independence
- Support class teachers across Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2
- Help create a calm, positive learning environment
- Support children with additional needs, including social, emotional and behavioural challenges
You might be a great fit if you have:
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or
- Experience with children or young people in education, residential care, youth work, support work, sports coaching, childcare, mentoring or similar
- Strong communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude
- The ability to settle quickly into different school environments
- Experience with SEND or challenging behaviour (a bonus, not essential)
This role is ideal for:
- Qualified TAs looking for flexible work
- Graduates considering a PGCE or a teaching career, a great way to gain classroom experience
- People from care, youth work, residential support or coaching backgrounds who want to move into schools
- Experienced support workers who love helping children succeed
What you''ll need
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply, and we''ll guide you through it)
- Referenceable experience with children or young people
- Two professional references
- Right to work in the UK
