About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our nurturing and inclusive primary schools in Knowsley, Merseyside. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young children with additional needs to make a real difference during their crucial early years of education.
You will work closely with our EYFS team to provide tailored support for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping to create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment. The role will involve working 1:1 and in small groups, implementing individual learning plans and collaborating with teaching staff, SENCO, and external professionals to support children''s development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the learning and development of pupils in EYFS with a range of SEN, including speech and language difficulties, autism spectrum conditions, and social/emotional needs.
- Implement targeted support plans under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
- Assist in planning and delivering engaging and differentiated activities.
- Monitor and record pupil progress, contributing to assessment and review processes.
- Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers.
What We''re Looking For:
- Relevant experience working with children with SEN, ideally in an EYFS or primary setting.
- A caring, patient, and flexible approach.
- A good understanding of the EYFS framework and child development.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently when required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or 3) is desirable but not essential.
