The Assistant Head of Finance leads the organisation''s operational finance function, maintaining robust financial management, compliance, and value for moneyThe postholder will support the Head of Finance and CEO in delivering the organisation''s financial strategy whilst managing the day to day accounting activities.The remit of the role will include, but not be limited to:Oversee the production of monthly management accounts, including variance analysisEnsure timely and accurate reporting of cash flow, budgets, and key performance indicatorsProvide insightful financial commentary to senior leadership and support the Board on financial operations and strategyInvestigate and resolve financial discrepancies and overpaymentsMaintain robust internal controls and strong governance frameworksEnsure compliance with all relevant statutory and regulatory requirementsOversee balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial recordsSupport the annual audit process and preparation of statutory accountsComplete and submit regulatory returns (including FFR, SDR, and others as required)Lead the annual budgeting process across the organisationDevelop and maintain financial models, including scenario planning and analysisOversee transactional finance functions, including banking, payroll, and paymentsContribute to the development of five-year business plans and financial forecastsThis is a hands on role in an SME organisation that requires front line accounting skills on a day
