SEND Teaching Assistant - Urgently Needed
Are you passionate about positively impacting the future of children through their academic learning? If so, we have a fantastic opportunity to join a superb SEND school in the Welwyn Garden City area as a SEND Teaching Assistant. This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, 08:30 am to 4 pm, where you will provide 1:1 support.
Prior experience as a SEND Teaching Assistant would be preferable, but experience working with children in some capacity (in the UK) where you can obtain a reference for this is required.
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Work alongside teachers and colleagues to foster a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment for all children.
- Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group assistance to pupils, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them feel supported and confident in their learning.
- Help plan and deliver educational activities both inside and outside the classroom.
- Encourage pupils to participate in lessons, build their confidence and develop their skills, helping them make progress towards their individual learning goals.
Requirements:
- Able to work Monday to Friday, 08:30 am to 4 pm
- Have prior experience working with children; preferably, must have experience with children in some capacity
- Comfortable providing support for SEND children on a 1:1 level
- Have or be willing to obtain a Child and Adult DBS
- Live local to Welwyn Garden City or within a commutable distance
