Functional Skills Maths Tutor Location: Ipswich Salary: £36,000 Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm Contract: Permanent The Role Our client is seeking an experienced Functional Skills Maths Tutor to support young people with SEND and a range of additional learning needs. You will deliver Entry Level 1-3 and Level 1-2 Functional Skills Maths to small groups of up to 12 learners. This is a specialist role requiring a patient, adaptable and engaging approach to teaching. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver creative, differentiated Maths sessions. Complete initial and ongoing assessments to monitor progress. Prepare learners for Functional Skills examinations. Adapt teaching for learners with needs including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, learning difficulties and communication needs. Maintain accurate learner records and progress information. Work with the quality team to maintain high delivery standards. Follow safeguarding, Prevent and safer recruitment requirements. Essential Requirements A recognised teaching qualification, such as AET, Cert Ed or PGCE. GCSE Maths at Grade 4/C or above, or Functional Skills Maths Level 2. Experience teaching learners with different abilities or additional needs. Strong knowledge of Functional Skills Maths delivery. Knowledge of EHCPs and SEND qualifications would be advantageous.
