Do you have a passion for peatlands? Would you like to accelerate evidence based lowland peat renewal? With thanks to funding from the Nature Recovery Project this unique role will drive insight and impact for the recovery of lowland peat in National Trust care and beyond. We''re looking for an experienced postdoctoral researcher to join the team to advance knowledge on lowland peatland protection and recovery and apply this to maximise benefits for nature and people. You''ll design and deliver research that increases understanding of approaches to scalable lowland peat recovery such as paludiculture and nature renewal. Working in partnership with other researchers and wider stakeholder groups you''ll help identify where and how the National Trust can play a more significant role in lowland peat recovery in the longer term. What it''s like to work here National Trust manage iconic lowland peatland nature reserves such as Wicken Fen and works in partnership in the Somerset Levels and Lancashire Peatlands. We have a key role to play in improving lowland peat landscapes so that they are both rich in nature and support thriving people and communities. Based in the Nature and Science team you''ll report to our Senior National Consultant for Nature Conservation and will work closely with operational teams and academic, statutory and practitioner partners.
