Hill McGlynn are currently working with a leading multidisciplinary contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Estimator to join their team, based from their offices in Potters Bar.

Our client has an established track record delivering a diverse range of construction projects and is looking to strengthen its pre-construction team with an Estimator who has experience within cladding, fa-ades and external envelope packages.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Estimator to join a well-established contractor, working on a variety of projects from tender stage through to handover.

The Role
As an Estimator, you will be responsible for the accurate and competitive pricing of cladding and fa-ade projects, working closely with the pre-construction, commercial and operational teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing detailed estimates and tenders for cladding, fa-ade and external envelope packages.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, scopes of work and tender documentation.
• Producing accurate take-offs and detailed pricing.
• Obtaining, analysing and negotiating quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Developing competitive and commercially viable tender submissions.
• Identifying project risks, exclusions, opportunities and potential value-engineering solutions.
• Liaising with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers throughout the tender process.
• Working closely with design, commercial and operational teams to ensure pricing accurately reflects project requirements.
• Managing multiple tenders and ensuring submissions are completed within agreed deadlines.
• Supporting the business in developing strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and supply-chain partners.

About You
We are looking for an experienced Estimator with a strong background in cladding, fa-ades or the wider building envelope sector.

You will ideally have:

• Proven experience as an Estimator within cladding, fa-ades, external envelope or a related construction discipline.
• Experience pricing projects from drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• A strong understanding of cladding systems, fa-ade construction and associated subcontractor packages.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong commercial awareness.
• The ability to produce accurate take-offs and competitive tenders.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• The ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines effectively.
• A proactive, organised and commercially minded approach.
• Experience working for a main contractor, specialist contractor or multidisciplinary construction business.
