Materials Buyer – House Builder - BuckinghamshireThis busy, high quality residential developer in Buckinghamshire has an immediate requirement for a Materials Buyer to work on a freelance contract basis for a period of 6 months which will be a temporary to permanent contract.You will have worked for an established main contractor or residential developer as a Materials Buyer and will be able to pick up current Buyer duties over several new build housing projects.Highly recognised for building high quality homes in Berkshire and the Southern regions, this medium sized turnover business has numerous new developments starting and seeing sustained success. This is a chance for a Buyer to join on a freelance basis and potentially transfer into a permanent position within the company.Responsibilities

Estimating material costs from project plans and drawings.Researching suppliers and sourcing new building products.Requesting quotes from vendors and subcontractors.Scheduling material deliveries and maintaining records.Assessing supplier reliability and resolving procurement issues.Ensuring materials meet safety, health, and environmental standards.Advising on material costs during the tendering process.Preparing cost reports to enhance project efficiency.Negotiating favourable terms with suppliers after contract approval.This Material Buyer position is specifically for applicants that have construction and house building experience so please only apply if you are experienced in the residential sector.For more information on this Materials Buyer role or any other Buying or purchasing positions in London and the Southeast please contact Lee Kidd in our Guildford office.O’Neill and Brennan values diversity and promotes equality.
