Join us as a Women''s Support Worker, and become part of a dedicated team delivering vital, trauma-informed support to women exploited by the sex industry - with a particular focus on those in the street-based sector.
What you''ll be doing
- Provide holistic, trauma-informed emotional and practical support to women at risk of or affected by sexual exploitation, violence, trafficking, and abuse.
- Work on an outreach basis, including fortnightly visits to local brothels and monitoring of online sex work activity to help identify and engage women most at risk.
- Collaborate with key partners such as health services, housing, mental health and substance misuse teams, and the police to safeguard vulnerable women and help them access the services they need.
- Advocate for your clients while empowering them to make informed choices, build resilience, and regain control over their lives.
- Provide 1:1 and group support sessions using self-help principles to promote independence and confidence.
- This is challenging but deeply rewarding work. You''ll help women who have experienced extraordinary adversity find safety, dignity, and the strength to create new pathways forward.
About you
- Compassionate, resilient, and non-judgmental
- Experienced in working with vulnerable individuals or survivors of violence, exploitation, or abuse
- Knowledgeable about safeguarding, VAWDASV, and risk management
- Skilled in support planning and caseload management
- A confident communicator, collaborator, and advocate
- Able to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and on-call and travel within the community
Essential: A valid driving license and access to a vehicle for work.
Strongly desirable: Ability to speak Welsh.
Desirable: Experience or qualifications in ISVA, mental health, housing, or substance misuse support.
