About the RoleBurman are seeking an experienced Senior Category Manager for our University client to lead strategic procurement initiatives within the Teaching, STEM andamp; Research, and Academic andamp; Student Services categories. This pivotal role involves managing high-value contracts, negotiating with suppliers, and collaborating closely with university stakeholders to deliver value through innovative procurement solutions.In addition to category management responsibilities, the Senior Category Manager will have line management duties for Category Managers within the People andamp; Development Services and Professional andamp; Business Services categories.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute comprehensive category strategies for designated spend categories.Conduct in-depth analysis of supplier markets to drive cost reduction and maximise value for money.Lead end-to-end procurement processes, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and university policies.Drive enhancements in procurement policy, practice, and process across the institution.Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.Provide leadership and guidance to Category Managers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team culture.About the TeamThe Strategic Procurement Team is evolving and redefining the way we deliver services.
