Overview

Our client, a well-established manufacturer operating across multiple UK sites, is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join their Maintenance-Engineering team. The role will be based at their Coventry site and is on a 3 on 3 off 6am to 6pm basis.

This is a hands-on, technically varied role supporting production equipment across the site operation and would be a great fit for an experienced multi-skilled engineer with an electrical bias.-

Reporting-to the Engineering Manager and working closely with the Site Operations and Quality teams, you will ultimately be tasked with ensuring that production is running safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensuring the safe, efficient operation of production equipment much of which is automated new machinery including conveyor systems and other high speed lines.
• Carry out both PPM and reactive maintenance in line with schedules and breakdowns.-
• Fault finding and other forms of diagnoses to identify root cause of issues and deal with them quickly and efficiently.-
• Interpreting layout designs and electrical drawings accurately.
• Play a key role in new installations and continuous improvement initiatives.-
• Identifying and implementing practical improvements to processes and equipment
• Training site technicians and maintenance managers on new or modified equipment
• Supporting projects and maintenance across all UK sites, with occasional travel and overnight stays
• Working autonomously with minimal supervision or direction.-

Person Specification:

• Comfortable working in a high-speed, high-pressure FMCG production or distribution environment.-
• A demonstrable track record in a multi-skilled maintenance engineering position with an electrical bias.-
• Ideally pre-existing experience of automated production or distribution environment equipment.-
• An ability to read electrical drawings.-
• Mechanical training.-
• Practical electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills to include inverters, servo motors, PLC inputs/outputs and some pneumatics.-
• Strong verbal and communication skills.
• Preferably an engineering degree or Electrical or Mechanical HNC.
• Knowledge of NEBOSH and HACCP.
