Salary: £46,000 – £48,000 + Door-to-Door Travel Pay + Overtime
Location: Field-Based (UK-Wide Travel – Ideally based along the M1/M62 corridor in West or South Yorkshire)
Hours: Monday to Friday (Day Shifts)
Holidays: 31 Days + Bank Holidays

An established and rapidly growing engineering solutions provider is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join its expanding service team. The organisation operates within a specialist area of industrial automation, supplying high-performance end-of-line systems to a diverse customer base across the UK. With a strong reputation for innovation and reliability, the business continues to invest heavily in both technology and employee development.
This position offers a highly varied and hands-on role, suited to an engineer who enjoys problem-solving in dynamic environments. You will be working on advanced automated packaging and handling systems, supporting customers across multiple sectors.
The RoleAs a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle support of automated machinery, from installation and commissioning through to maintenance and reactive repairs. The role is predominantly field-based, involving travel to customer sites nationwide, with most work completed during the week and minimal overnight stays.
You will act as a key technical representative of the business, ensuring equipment operates at optimal performance while delivering a high standard of customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Installation, setup, and commissioning of automated end-of-line packaging systems
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance to maximise equipment uptime
- Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, and basic control system faults
- Providing rapid response to breakdowns, minimising customer downtime
- Supporting customers with on-site training and operational guidance
- Completing detailed service reports and maintaining accurate documentation
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant health & safety standards
- Background in servicing or maintaining automated or industrial machinery
- Multi-skilled engineering capability (mechanical and electrical)
- NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline is desirable
- Experience with packaging, conveyors, robotics, or similar equipment would be advantageous
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Comfortable working independently in a field-based role
- Customer-focused with good communication skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Competitive base salary of £46,000 – £48,000
