Operations Manager

£70,000 – £80,000 depending on experience

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Operations Manager to join a successful international plastics manufacturing business based in Mansfield.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role with overall responsibility for the operational performance of a high-volume manufacturing site supplying demanding FMCG, personal care, food, pharmaceutical and medical markets.

We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager or senior manufacturing leader with a strong background in plastics manufacturing, injection moulding, injection blow moulding, FMCG or packaging.

You will lead a multi-disciplined operation covering production, technical, engineering, maintenance, planning, quality, warehousing and distribution. You will be responsible for delivering customer requirements while improving productivity, efficiency, machine utilisation, waste, downtime and overall operational performance.

The role will involve leading and developing teams, managing operational KPIs and budgets, driving continuous improvement, and working closely with engineering and maintenance to maximise equipment availability. You will also work closely with planning and customer service to ensure production capacity and delivery requirements are achieved.

A strong understanding of injection moulding, manufacturing processes and high-volume production is essential. Experience of SAP, GMP and ISO quality systems would be advantageous.

You will be a visible and credible leader with strong commercial awareness, excellent people-management skills and a proven track record of delivering measurable operational improvements.

Most importantly, you will be able to demonstrate what you have achieved in previous roles and provide clear examples of improving productivity, efficiency, quality, waste and profitability.
