Are you an experienced construction HSE professional looking for an opportunity to build and shape a safety function, rather than simply maintain existing systems and processes?

Principal People are working with a leading UK renewable energy business to recruit an HSE Manager into its growing Construction and Projects team.

The organisation has seen significant investment and expansion, with an established portfolio of renewable energy facilities and a substantial pipeline of new developments. Projects range from upgrades and civil engineering works at existing facilities through to the construction of new sites valued at up to £30m.

This is a newly created position, offering the opportunity to take ownership of construction HSE, establish practical systems and standards, and work closely with project teams as the business continues to grow.

The Role

• Develop and implement construction HSE systems, procedures and standards, establishing consistent arrangements across the Projects function.
• Provide technical guidance on CDM, RAMS, contractor management and wider construction safety requirements.
• Work closely with project managers and contractors to ensure safety is considered throughout project planning, design and delivery.
• Undertake site inspections, audits and contractor performance reviews, identifying risks and driving improvements.
• Build strong relationships across the business, providing practical advice and helping develop a positive safety culture.

What We''re Looking For

• The client is open to HSE Professionals from construction, civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities and other project-based engineering environments.

Ideally, you''ll have:

• Strong construction H&S experience, with a sound understanding of CDM and associated construction risks.
• Experience developing, implementing or improving HSE systems and processes.
• NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate as a minimum, with Diploma-level qualifications advantageous

• Salary up to £65,000, depending on experience.

There is a local regional office and also a London based office which you will visit approximately twice per month. Business travel and accommodation expenses are covered.
