SEN Teaching Assistant - Wakefield Full-Time Long-Term Opportunity Start Date: ASAP We are recruiting on behalf of a specialist school in the Wakefield area that supports pupils with a range of complex learning difficulties, communication needs, autism, and associated additional needs. The school provides a nurturing, inclusive environment where every pupil is supported to achieve their full potential both academically and personally. The Role As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis, supporting their learning, development, and emotional wellbeing throughout the school day. You will play a key role in helping students access education while promoting independence and confidence. This role will involve personal care, so applicants must be comfortable supporting pupils with their day-to-day care needs in a respectful and dignified manner. Responsibilities Supporting pupils with a range of SEN needs in the classroom Providing 1:1 and small-group support Assisting with personal care where required Supporting communication, social development, and emotional regulation Working closely with teachers and other professionals to implement individual support plans Creating a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment Requirements Previous experience supporting children or adults with SEN, either in an education, care, support work, residential care, or healthcare setting Comfortable undertaking personal care ..... full job details .....
