Are you an experienced carpenter looking to pass on your trade knowledge and support the next generation of learners?

About the Role

You''ll join a further education provider to assess carpentry apprentices against their qualification standards, working closely with learners and employers to ensure consistent progress towards achievement.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting workplace assessments for carpentry apprentices in line with apprenticeship standards.

• Providing learners with clear, constructive feedback to support their progress.

• Maintaining accurate, up-to-date records of learner achievement using e-portfolio systems.

• Liaising with employers and training staff to plan and coordinate assessment visits.

• Ensuring all assessments meet awarding body and regulatory requirements.

Essential Qualification

• A recognised Assessor qualification (TAQA, CAVA or A1), or a willingness to work towards one.

About You

We''re looking for someone who:

• Holds a vocational qualification in carpentry at Level 3 or above.

• Has up-to-date industry knowledge and hands-on trade experience.

• Communicates clearly and delivers feedback that helps learners improve.

• Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to their own transport for employer site visits.

• Is organised and comfortable managing a caseload of learners.
