Are you a caring, patient and motivated individual looking for a rewarding role supporting young people with complex special educational needs?

We are recruiting a Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant to join the Post-16 provision of a specialist SEN school in Northampton, supporting young people aged 16-18 to develop their confidence, independence and essential life skills.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about helping young people prepare for adulthood and reach their full potential, with the potential for a temp-to-perm position for a suitable candidate.

The Role

Working alongside teachers and support staff, you will:

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support tailored to individual needs.
• Support learning, communication, social development and life skills.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
• Provide personal care, including toileting, personal hygiene and mealtime support.
• Assist students with physical and mobility needs, following appropriate training.
• Support community activities and preparation for adulthood.
• Promote a safe, inclusive environment where every student is treated with dignity and respect.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• Patient, compassionate and enthusiastic about supporting young people with SEND.
• Comfortable providing personal care as part of the role.
• Calm and confident when supporting students with complex needs.
• A strong communicator who can build positive relationships.
• Reliable, flexible and able to work effectively as part of a team.

Previous experience in SEN, care or a similar support role is advantageous.
