Year 1 Primary Teacher
Location: Wirral
Pay: -150 to -230 per day depending on experience
Start: ASAP
Contract: Full time, long term
A primary school on the Wirral needs a Year 1 teacher. Year 1 is its own job, so the school are specifically looking for someone who understands the jump from Reception and will not spend the first half term working that out.
The role

• Full class responsibility for a Year 1 class, planning, teaching and assessment
• Delivering the school''s phonics scheme and preparing pupils for the screening check
• Keeping continuous provision running alongside more formal learning
• Working with the EYFS lead on transition and with the Year 2 teacher on progression
• Standard parent contact through the year

You will need

• QTS, QTLS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• Key Stage 1 experience, ideally in Year 1 itself
• Secure phonics knowledge, whichever scheme you have used
• The patience that teaching five and six year olds actually takes
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
