Job Title: Design Engineer Precision Machining Location: Nottingham Working Arrangement: Office-based Salary: Competitive, depending on experience Experience: 5 yearsAbout the OpportunityAn established engineering business is looking for an experienced Design Engineer to join its Nottingham-based team.This is a key role for an engineer with a strong background in workholding, fixturing and mechanical design, who enjoys working closely with customers to understand complex engineering requirements and then developing practical, innovative solutions.You ll be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from understanding the initial application and developing the concept through to detailed design, manufacture and project delivery.The RoleWorking closely with senior management and the wider engineering team, you will be responsible for:Meeting with clients to understand projects and design brief.Developing and executing mechanical designs using 3D CAD, primarily Siemens NX and/or SolidWorks.Designing bespoke workholding and fixturing solutions for customer applications.Using computer simulations and testing techniques to evaluate, refine and optimise designs.Documenting design processes, iterations and test results.Managing your work effectively against project timescales and available resources.Liaising with customers, designers, engineers and manufacturers throughout projects.Producing technical reports, design specifications and operational documentation.Keeping up to date ..... full job details .....
