Role: SEN Teaching Assistant - Full Time
Pay: -95 - -105 per day
Start Date: September 2026 - Trials Ongoing
Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
Length: Full Academic Year - Temp to Perm

Academics are urgently recruiting a proactive, patient, and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a well-structured and supportive secondary SEN school in Southwark.
The school supports pupils aged 11-18 with Autism (ASD), many of whom have associated communication needs, sensory processing difficulties, and varying levels of learning ability. The school benefits from small class sizes, strong leadership, and excellent staff-to-pupil ratios, ensuring every child receives tailored support.
The Role:
* Full-time SEN TA role supporting secondary-aged pupils with ASD
* Working 1:1 and in small groups to support learning, behaviour, and engagement
* Supporting students with communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction
* Using structured approaches to support routine, transitions, and sensory needs
* Assisting with de-escalation strategies and promoting positive behaviour
* Working closely with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals
* Creating a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment
Ideal Candidate:
* Passionate about supporting young people with Autism and SEN
* Experience with ASD, SEMH, or behavioural needs (highly desirable)
* Calm, resilient, and confident managing behaviour and emotional needs
* Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships
* Experience in a school or care setting (desirable but not essential)
* Interested in careers in teaching, psychology, or therapy-based fields
* Able to commit full-time for the academic year
