Working with leadership on the development of the risk management processes for expanded Crude, NGL, and LNG activities. In addition, working closely with Exploration and Production, Commercial adds significant value by improving ConocoPhillips supply chain management and growing its third-party global marketing business.Based at our offices at Angel Court in London, reporting directly to the Manager, Europe Regulation, Compliance and Risk, the position is responsible for both monitoring and reporting of Risk related commodity positions and PandL within Gas, LNG, and Crude, using deal capture, position reporting and risk management systems and for the further development of those systems and processes. The position also serves as an integral element within the internal control environment by ensuring positions are marked to market daily and risk management position reports are completed accurately and timely.Position OverviewPrimary Role Objectives:Use existing systems and spreadsheet tools to understand and summarize commercial commodity price-risk positionsMaintain MS Excel and MS Access based tools that leverage corporate systems for deal capture, position management, earnings and VaRMonitor and report exposure, VaR, and risk resultsMonitoring compliance with the company''s risk control policies and regional position limitsCoordinating reconciliation of paper and physical positions to systems of record, and front office control spreadsheets in support of daily reporting responsibilitiesSupport modelling of proposed trading scenarios and structured productsDevelop understanding of Commodity markets, exposures, and risk management approachesThrough collaboration with Front Office, understand trading patterns and the infrastructure that moves gas, crude, or LNG from supply to market areas.Perform independent analysis to address any commercial concerns, identify process improvements and efficiencies in existing practicesUtilise automation to strengthen process controlsTrain and mentor other Risk Operations team membersPrepare a variety of ad hoc analysis and data tools to meet changing business needsParticipate in business improvement projects that might include supporting or leading cross-functional teams that implement systems enhancements, re-work business processes, or address enterprise risksCompetency RequirementsRequired:Knowledge of risk reporting and management systemsExperience that demonstrates analytical and problem solving capabilityDegree in Maths, Computer Science or equivalent numerate degreeDemonstrable experience with MTM and VaR reporting, GAAP accounting and financial reporting, or engineering and quantitative analysis, ideally gained from working within, Crude, Gas, LNG environmentRisk analyst experienceProficient in the use of Microsoft Excel for maintaining Excel spreadsheets or development and maintenance of complex modelsPreferred:Experience at driving change to improve work processesExperience of Energy Trading Risk Management systems and integration with other front and back office systemsUnderstanding of best practices in risk management and approaches for cross commodity portfolio risk management and reporting.Experience performing stress tests and scenario analyses to assess the potential impact of extreme market eventsAdvanced proficiency in the use of Excel and development or maintenance of complex modelsIntermediate proficiency in SQL, PowerBI, Python, Spotfire or related programsIntermediate knowledge of financial products/contracts used in commodity trading and risk management (swaps, options, futures and forwards)Intermediate knowledge of the Company''s risk management policiesAbility to interact with both finance and trading customersDemonstrates a high level of personal initiative and sense of urgency to get the job done, both in handling technical tools and addressing business issuesEffectively handle challenging priorities to achieve results, particularly when new situations arise that requires resolution on short noticeStrong written and oral communication skills are importantDelivers results through realistic planning to accomplish goalsBuilds effective solutions based on available information and makes timely decisions that are safe and ethicalListens actively and invites new ideas for exchanged opinions, then influences and acts to drive positive performance and achieve resultsApply By:Sept 26, 2025Sponsorship:ConocoPhillips\'' sponsorship for employment authorization in the country where this job is located is NOT available for this position.EEO:ConocoPhillips is an equal opportunity employer.
