Part-Time Teaching assistant
As a Part-Time Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils aged 2-19 who have severe to profound learning difficulties, many of whom also have additional needs such as physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and autistic spectrum conditions. You will work as part of a skilled, multidisciplinary team to deliver a rich, functional, and communicative curriculum focused on independence, personal autonomy, life skills, and social relationships.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist the class teacher in delivering highly personalised activities aligned with pupils'' individual education plans.Support pupils'' communication using a Total Communication approach.Facilitate development of life skills such as self-care, social interaction, and leisure activities.Provide physical, sensory, and mobility support where required.Promote independence, confidence, and personal autonomy for all learners.About YouExperience or interest in special educational needs is essential.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Compassion, patience, and resilience.Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently.Commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of children (enhanced DBS required).Flexibility to attend training or meetings outside regular hours.Terms and ConditionsHours: Part-time (flexible)Pay: Dependent on experience, with progression opportunities.Development: Full training and continued professional development provided.Safeguarding: Enhanced DBS required.Why Join Us as a Part-Time Teachi
