Sellick Partnership is currently recruiting for an experienced HR Manager to join our client based in Warwickshire on an interim contract until February 2028. This role is office based.
The HR Manager will be responsible for leading the HR team, providing comprehensive HR Service which supports the delivery of the organisation''s strategic plan.
The duties of the HR Manager include:
- Lead and shape the Council''s HR Strategy and Organisational Development agenda, ensuring alignment with the Council Plan
- Act as the senior HR professional, providing expert advice on employment law, HR best practice and complex people matters
- Develop, review and implement HR policies, ensuring compliance with employment legislation, ACAS guidance and best practice
- Partner with managers across the organisation to provide proactive HR advice and support on workforce issues and organisational challenges
- Lead on complex employee relations matters including restructures, redundancies, disciplinary and grievance cases, investigations and appeals
- Build and maintain positive relationships with recognised trade unions and staff representatives
- Drive employee engagement initiatives, including staff surveys and the delivery of action plans that enhance workplace culture
- Lead the Council''s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion agenda across the workforce
- Oversee recruitment, workforce planning, reward, benefits and employee terms and conditions
- Lead, develop and inspire the HR team, ensuring high performance, continuous improvement and excellent service delivery
The HR Manager will ideally have:
- CIPD Level 7 qualified or equivalent, or qualified by experience
- Experience of working in a senior HR role
- Experience within a public sector organisation would be beneficial
- Experience of managing complex ER cases including grievances, restructuring and redundancy
- Expert knowledge of employment law, case law and best practice
- Experience of leading and developing HR teams to deliver a High-quality people services function
The HR Manager will need to have excellent communication skills and effectively be able to communicate to stakeholders of all levels. Furthermore, the ideal candidate will have an impeccable eye for detail and accuracy to ensure all workload is carried out effectively and efficiently. They will also need to able to prioritise their workload and be efficient and effective to meet unpredictable deadlines and deal with conflicting demands, whilst working in a high-pressured environment.
