Authorised Person (Water)

Salary: Circa -45,000 + benefits

We are recruiting for an experienced Authorised Person (Water) to join a large, complex healthcare environment. This is a key compliance role responsible for ensuring water systems are operated and maintained in line with HTM 04-01, ACOP L8 and HSG274 requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the Authorised Person (Water) and provide technical assurance across water systems.
• Ensure compliance with Water Safety Plans and statutory maintenance requirements.
• Monitor inspections, sampling, flushing, cleaning and disinfection activities.
• Supervise contractors and Competent Persons carrying out water hygiene works.
• Investigate incidents, non-conformances and Legionella-related risks.
• Support audits, inspections and Authorising Engineer reviews.
• Maintain accurate compliance records and drive corrective actions where required.

Requirements

• Recognised Authorised Person (Water) qualification/training.
• Strong water hygiene, water treatment or water safety management experience.
• Detailed knowledge of HTM 04-01, ACOP L8 and HSG274.
• Supervisory experience managing teams, contractors or specialist service providers.
• Experience investigating compliance issues and implementing corrective actions.
• HNC/HND, NVQ Level 4/5 or equivalent technical qualification desirable.
