Information Technology Support Engineer

We’re looking for an experienced L2 IT Support Engineer to provide short-term backfill in Croydon. You’ll be responsible for maintaining and supporting all IT services across the school environment, ensuring uptime, safeguarding and security for staff and pupilsKey Responsibilities
Maintain and support all IT services, systems, and devices (local and remote)Ensure secure access and data backup in line with school requirementsPrioritise safe use of IT for students, working closely with safeguarding teamProactively monitor and maintain the IT network, troubleshooting issuesManage and resolve tickets via the service desk, providing in-person support where neededEscalate problems to third parties when requiredOversee installation, configuration, and administration of users and devicesMaintain IT asset register and documentationCarry out routine maintenance of classroom IT to minimise teaching disruptionMonitor IT systems for viruses, malfunctions, and errorsCollaborate with inTEC Education and other service providers on ongoing projectsSkills and Experience (Essential)
3+ years in IT support, with at least 1 year in a senior roleStrong knowledge of Windows and Mac OSNetworking: DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, VLANs, switching, wirelessStrong knowledge of Microsoft applicationsEnhanced DBS (mandatory)IT certificationsExperience with SaaS/cloud supportKnowledge of safeguarding in IT (web/email security)Seniority level
