We are working with a well-regarded secondary school in Harlow, rated GOOD by Ofsted, that is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic QTS Humanities Teacher. The school is committed to delivering a broad and engaging Humanities curriculum, encouraging students to think critically, explore different perspectives and develop a deeper understanding of historical events, geographical issues and the wider world.

Job Overview:

  • This school caters for students aged 11-16.
  • Full-time, Monday - Friday, Humanities Teacher role.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated Humanities lessons across KS3 and KS4, teaching a combination of History, Geography and, where appropriate, Religious Studies.
  • Inspire students through creative and thought-provoking teaching that develops analytical skills, curiosity and independent thinking.
  • Assess, monitor and track student progress to ensure strong attainment and positive outcomes.
  • Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment where all students can thrive.
  • Encourage discussion, debate, enquiry and investigative learning while helping students make connections between people, places, cultures and historical events.

What we''re looking for:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • A degree in History, Geography, Humanities or a closely related subject.
  • Experience teaching Humanities subjects across KS3 and KS4 within a secondary school.
  • The ability to teach History and/or Geography confidently, with experience of additional Humanities subjects being advantageous.
  • A passion for Humanities and the ability to engage, motivate and challenge learners of all abilities.
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
  • A proactive, positive and collaborative approach to teaching and learning.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
