SEN Teaching Assistants - Secondary (SEMH and Challenging Behaviour)Location: WirralFull-time / PermanentLong-term / Temp-to-perm opportunities availableWe are currently recruiting experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to support students within a secondary school / specialist provision on the Wirral. This role is ideal for individuals who are confident working with challenging behaviour and have a strong understanding of SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs.The RoleAs an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needsSupport pupils displaying challenging behaviours, using de-escalation techniquesWork closely with teachers and pastoral staff to deliver tailored interventionsHelp create a safe, structured and inclusive learning environmentPromote positive behaviour, engagement, and emotional regulation strategiesAbout YouTo be considered for this role, you must:Have previous experience working in a secondary school, PRU, or SEN settingBe confident supporting students with challenging behaviour and SEMH conditionsDemonstrate strong behaviour management skillsBe resilient, patient, and able to remain calm under pressureHave a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young peopleBe able to build strong, positive relationships with pupils and staffDesirable (but not essential)Team Teach or other de-escalation trainingExperience within alternative provisions or PRUsBackground in youth work, care, or pastoral rolesWhat We ..... full job details .....
