Business Development Manager (Passive Fire & Fire Dampers)
A leading UK provider of passive fire protection and fire damper compliance services is seeking an experienced and driven Business Development Manager to join their growing commercial team. Known for delivering high‑quality inspection, maintenance, remedial, and installation services, this organisation works across diverse sectors - supporting clients in maintaining safe, compliant buildings through robust fire safety solutions.
The Role
The Business Development Manager will champion the company’s passive fire and fire damper service offering, taking responsibility for driving revenue, building relationships, and developing new business opportunities. This role suits a motivated, technically confident sales professional who thrives in a consultative, compliance‑led environment.
The successful individual will:
- Identify, engage, and secure new business across fire damper inspections, passive fire surveys, fire stopping, and remedial works.
- Deliver compelling sales presentations, tenders, and proposals.
- Own the pricing of sales opportunities, including labour, materials, access and compliance considerations.
- Build long‑term relationships with asset managers, compliance leads, building managers, and procurement teams.
- Understand client-specific requirements and tailor compliant fire safety solutions accordingly.
- Conduct account reviews and maintain strong customer satisfaction.
- Work collaboratively with estimating, operational, and surveying teams to ensure accurate scoping.
- Track sales performance, pipeline forecasting, and market activity while contributing to business strategy.
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate brings:
- A proven B2B sales background within passive fire, fire safety, M&E, or FM services.
- Strong knowledge of fire dampers, fire stopping, compartmentation, and relevant compliance frameworks (e.g., BS 9999, BS 9991, HTM 05‑02, Approved Document B).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Experience selling fire damper inspection/remedial services and/or passive fire installation works.
- Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and proposal writing.
- A full UK driving licence.
