Client Local Authority in BarkingJob TitleLawyerPay Rate 60- 70 an hour UMBRELLAHours36 Hours a week(Mon-Fri) 9AM-5PMDuration Initial 6 month contractLocation Hybrid working-will be office based in Barking 3 days a weekDescriptionKey ResponsibilitiesLeading on advising internal stakeholders, drafting, negotiation and management of lease renewals.Drafting and negotiating industry-standard property documentation.Advising on contentious and non-contentious property matters including delay, extensions of time, defects, payment disputes, lease interpretation and variation issues.Commercial leases (landlord and tenant)Lease renewals and terminationsAsset managementProperty disputes managementStrategic property portfolio adviceGovernance and complianceDeveloping and improving legal templates, governance processes and lease management practices.Supporting corporate governance and compliance activities across the organisation.Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers and legal staff where appropriate.Essential Experience and SkillsQualified solicitor, barrister or equivalent common law qualified lawyer with substantial post-qualification experience.Strong commercial lease background.Significant experience in property law.Strong understanding of how to forfeit leases, serve s 25 notices and s 146 notices.Experience drafting and negotiating complex leases.Desirable ExperienceExperience advising on leases and complex property matters (including unsigned leases).In-house legal experience.E
