Maintenance Assistant

Location: Woking, Surrey (Mobile Role Across Surrey)
Salary: £37,000
Hours: Monday – Friday

The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Assistant to join a growing property maintenance team working across high-end properties in Surrey. This is a mobile role, providing a varied workload across multiple sites, supporting general maintenance and repair tasks.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring properties are maintained to a high standard, working both independently and alongside other engineers and contractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct general property maintenance including carpentry, tiling, and repairs to doors, windows, and locking systems
• Install and repair guttering and drainage systems
• Carry out basic plumbing repairs
• Source and collect materials from local suppliers as required
• Oversee contractors on-site when necessary, ensuring work is completed correctly
• Provide support to colleagues, including covering absences and assisting where needed
• Participate in an on-call rota and occasional night work when required
• Follow all company policies and health & safety regulations at all times
• Carry out any additional tasks as required within the scope of the role

Requirements

• Experience in a similar maintenance or handyman role
• Strong skills in one or more trades such as carpentry, plastering, or tiling
• Competent using a range of hand tools
• Basic understanding of building regulations
• Good practical skills and ability to measure and calculate accurately
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently
• Full, clean UK driving licence
