Behaviour Support Worker

Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with behavioural, emotional, or social difficulties.
Implement strategies and interventions to promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to create and maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.
Help students manage their emotions and build healthy relationships with peers and staff.
Monitor and report on student progress, behaviour incidents, and support plans.
Act as a positive role model, reinforcing school values and expectations.
Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with children or young people with behavioural needs (in school, youth work, care, or similar settings).
Calm, resilient, and confident when managing challenging situations.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to build trusting relationships with students, staff, and families.
A proactive, flexible, and empathetic approach.
Relevant training (e.g., Team Teach, MAPA, de-escalation techniques) is desirable but not essential.
