With October half-term just around the corner, Stafflex Education is looking for enthusiastic, confident and experienced Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across Huddersfield and the surrounding areas.

As schools prepare for the busy second half of the autumn term, we''re recruiting reliable education professionals for flexible day-to-day cover, short-term assignments and potential longer-term opportunities from January 2027 onwards.

Whether you''re looking for regular work throughout November and December, occasional days to fit around other commitments, or a longer-term opportunity in the new year, we''d love to hear from you!

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you''ll play an important role in keeping learning on track when teaching staff are absent. You''ll be responsible for:

• Supervising secondary school classes and ensuring students remain engaged and focused

• Delivering pre-prepared lesson activities and following instructions left by teaching staff

• Creating a positive, calm and productive classroom environment

• Managing classroom behaviour confidently and in line with school policies

• Providing feedback to teaching staff on student progress and any concerns

What We''re Looking For

We''re keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:

• Relevant Experience - previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar secondary classroom-based role

• Strong Behaviour Management - the confidence to lead a classroom and maintain a positive learning environment

• Excellent Communication Skills - a professional, approachable and adaptable attitude

• Reliability and Flexibility - the ability to step into different school environments and follow established lesson plans

• Enhanced DBS - ideally registered with the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
